Nearly 40 years have passed since Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in Memphis, Tenn. The memory remains fresh for the Rev. Jesse Jackson.

Sincere Communication: Indian workers on pilgrimage from Gulf Coast to DC

At 2 AM in the morning, New Light Baptist Church Trustee R. C. Shoffner and Rev. Nelson Johnson of the Beloved Community Center greeted 68 exhausted workers fleeing what they called modern day slavery in Pasgalousa, Mississippi. On Sunday February 24, about 50 gathered at Faith Community Church to hear the stories of communities from the past - Sugartown, Persimmon Grove, Bass Chapel, Collin Grove and Raleigh Crossroads.
