After preaching at New Light Baptist Church, Rev. Jesse Jackson along with several area pastors including host pastor Rev. Cardes Brown and the BCC's Rev. Nelson Johnson to address the media. He shared a wide range of views, including his sense that the Truth and Reconciliation process is growing as a useful tool for achieving racial justice in our communities.

Community Dialogue on Education Town Hall Meeting

While many in Guilford County have been talking about what qualities would be good for a new superintendent, the Community Dialogue on Education took the moment as an opportunity to engage in a discussion of the goals of education. The CDE held a Town Hall Meeting that was attended by over 50 community members and engaged in a rich discussion.

Indian workers on pilgrimage from Gulf Coast to DC

On March 26, 2008 sixty-eight Indian workers seeking sanctuary, stopped in Greensboro, at New Light Baptist Church. The group was in the process of making a pilgrimage from New Orleans to Washington DC to protest the unjust treatment they have been subjected to.
